Cambodia to Open New Chamber of Commerce Office in Paris

Cambodia is set to establish its ninth overseas Chamber of Commerce office in Paris, aiming to attract French investment and boost growing bilateral trade.

The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) is preparing to launch a representative office in Paris, France, marking its ninth such bureau abroad.

The Cambodian government gave its approval for the new office through a sub-decree issued on September 16. The office's remit will cover the administrative area of the city of Paris.

Speaking on September 25, CCC vice-president Lim Heng explained that the chamber's overseas offices are primarily intended to showcase Cambodia's investment laws, economic policies and business opportunities to foreign investors, in the hope of drawing greater direct investment into the country.

"They play an important part in highlighting Cambodia's investment potential to investors abroad, and they also help open up new markets for Cambodian goods worldwide," he said.

A Growing International Network

According to Heng, the CCC already operates a representative office in the United States, two in Canada, three in Australia, one in New Zealand and one in Japan.

"They routinely bring visitors and investors to Cambodia, whether to make direct investments or to place orders for Cambodian products," he added.

He noted that an inter-ministerial committee, working alongside the CCC, will soon be formed to organise an election choosing 15 appointed members for the Paris office. The leadership will consist of one president, four vice-presidents and ten additional members.

Strengthening Ties with France

Cambodia and France are also set to host the third Cambodia-France Business Forum in November 2026. The event is expected to encourage investors from both nations to enter each other's markets and to boost bilateral trade.

Figures from the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) show that trade between the two countries reached $438.69 million during the first eight months of 2026, a 13.9 per cent rise compared with the same period in 2025.

Cambodian exports to France came to $351.22 million, up 14.8 per cent, while imports from France totalled $87.46 million, an increase of 10.6 per cent.
