Cambodia to open Chamber of Commerce office in Paris

Cambodia is preparing to launch a new representative office of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) in Paris, which will become the body's ninth outpost abroad.

The plan was formalised in a sub-decree issued on September 16, in which the government approved the office and defined its jurisdiction as covering the administrative boundaries of the city of Paris.

Promoting investment and exports

CCC vice-president Lim Heng said the main goal of the overseas offices is to publicise Cambodia's investment laws, economic policies and commercial opportunities among foreign investors, in a bid to draw more direct investment into the kingdom.

• The CCC currently operates one office in the United States, two in Canada, three in Australia, one in New Zealand and one in Japan.
• These offices regularly bring visitors and investors to Cambodia, either to invest directly or to place orders for Cambodian goods.
• The network also helps open new markets for Cambodian exports around the world, Heng added.

Leadership and upcoming forum

To staff the Paris office, an inter-ministerial committee working with the CCC will organise an election of 15 appointed members: one president, four vice-presidents and 10 ordinary members.

Cambodia and France are also planning a third Cambodia-France Business Forum in November 2026, expected to encourage investors from both countries to enter each other's markets and deepen bilateral trade.

Two-way trade rising

Trade between the two countries totalled $438.69 million in the first eight months of 2026, a rise of 13.9 per cent over the same period in 2025, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise.

• Exports from Cambodia to France reached $351.22 million, up 14.8 per cent.
• Imports from France climbed 10.6 per cent to $87.46 million.
